Horizontal diffusion and dryers
The sugar juice is extracted from beet chips by diffusion. The diffusion is realized in a long rotating cylinder, where hot water meets the beet chips and is progressively enriched in sugar.
CMD offers complete drive systems for this type of diffusion, including a toothed gear ring with its pinion, the pinion bearings, the primary gearbox of helical (ERmaster®) or planetary (ERsun®) type, as well the connecting couplings, of grid type (Winflex®) or gear type (Flexident®). CMD can also offer an alternative drive system, called the Bogiflex®, which is a self aligning and floating drive very well adapted to such application.
The vertical diffusion tower does implement countercurrent washing of the sugar beets, in order to collect sugar.
CMD offers complete drive systems for this type of diffusion, including a multi-segmented (4 parts) toothed gear ring, integrated “Bogi-pinions” from the Bogiflex® drive concept, equipped with primary ERsun® planetary gearboxes, or Durand® worm gearboxes.
The sugar juice is processed in vacuum sealed boilers, where fine crystals are inserted in order to start the crystallization, which leads to obtaining the ‘’Massecuite’’.
CMD proposes Durand® worm gearboxes and ERsun® planetary gearboxes as drive systems for horizontal or vertical crystallizers.
